Music Development Plan
At Barcroft Academy, we aim to inspire every pupil to develop a lifelong love of music through a wide range of high-quality musical experiences that engage, challenge and inspire. Our music curriculum nurtures creativity, curiosity and enjoyment, while developing pupils’ confidence, self-esteem, resilience and ability to work collaboratively with others.
Through our music curriculum, pupils have opportunities to perform, listen and respond critically, sing, play instruments, improvise and compose. They develop an understanding of the key musical elements and vocabulary which form the building blocks of music, while experiencing a diverse range of musical styles, cultures, traditions and composers.
We aim to ensure that every pupil can experience the joy of making and sharing music, both within the classroom and as part of the wider life of Barcroft Academy.
